how to not dress boring this winter
I'm looking at you, Lulu leggings
26 tips from someone who doesn’t own black trousers
a Lisa Says Gah jello cake puffer SURELY helps to energize your fits – but it’s not necessary.
*the crowd breathes a highly concerned sigh of relief*
but it’s fun haha.
*the crowd’s eyes skeptically squint slowly*
1. if you’re taking indoor workout classes, grab a somewhat serious, passive aggressive graphic tee in a fun color. wear it proudly
2. layer oversized tees under short sleeve sweaters if you get hot often (do my rosy cheeks give away my overheating?)
and carry a Bink water bottle with you as a Scandi-cool, wellness girl accessory. or because you’re addicted to it
3. get offensively bright fleece overalls because why the hell not! they’re warm but your dog hates them
or a pair of pastel sea foam fleece pants if you don’t want to go full bib boar
even to the office? debatable..
4. get a neon yellow beanie and just wear it with everything (this one’s def better than my Carhartt)
5. of course colored socks. ESPECIALLY to the gyno
6. dabble in pastels for your workoutwear. who said black and navy are the only sweat-worthy colors?
7. two words: white. overalls.
even with baselayers and a serious coat
8. find an extra large (on you) sweater and throw it on with track pants + Salomons for a caffè latte run
9. be fun at home, too (pjs)
or break them out of the house and pretend they’re Real Pants
10. wear an interesting baseball cap instead of a beanie when it’s impossible that your head will freeze
but if it will, shut up and get a snood (and make it a Prada one if you don’t need $950)
11. wear jewelry in all the shapes and get pastel yellow nail polish
oh and mix metals it’s easier (and cooler)
12. wear a yellow bag that reminds you of the sun so Seasonal Depression doesn’t claim you
or one that grabs the light in a really magical way
13. dabble in hair accessories that make you feel a tad elementary, too
headbands, scrunchies, etc
I’ll even throw a rose scrunchie in there
14. don a reflective coat so you can blind any and every onlooker if the lighting is right
15. go monochrome, but with pinks
16. thrift an old man’s vintage suede jacket. oh, and metallic boots (those were new)
17. if your bag’s got a strap, add a charm to her
18. wear cute jeans + fun shoes (and make your bf do the same) for a trickle of dopamine
19. pair floral silk blouses with your black wash jeans
20. double dose denim at the derma
21. get your favorite food embroidered on an Oddli baby tee (olives)
22. don’t really ski but wear anything that says aprés
23. wear this with every crewneck sweatshirt
24. bright red-orange nails + a camo hat that doesn’t scream I wore this one because my red cap was dirty look nice together. or do they give Buck season?
25. colored wellies when the snow melts but there’s still some slush (just wear wool socks)
26. instead of a fur coat, peek at these from Unreal Fur instead of mine in the dimmest lighting possible
but if you wanna find that jelly cake coat…. it does convert to a vest and makes you look UNCANNILY like a children’s book protagonist ;)
love ya! go be fun!
